On Saturday, March 1, 2008 The Rye Arts Center will honor its corporate donors as part of their Annual Fundraiser, “The Arts Benefit You: A Night of Latin Dancing”. Over the years, Allan M. Block Insurance Agency, Con Edison, Sotheby’s and Verizon/Verizon Foundation have consistently helped to underwrite free community festivals, gallery exhibitions, performing arts events, scholarships, and, in the case of Verizon and Con Edison, start-up money for their state-of-the-art Media Arts lab. Rye Arts Center Executive Director, Peggy Hill, stated, “Without the valued contribution from local businesses, and specifically the ongoing support of these four recognized corporations, the RAC would find it difficult to stay loyal to its mission. Hill also added that, “the companies have not only contributed financially to the RAC, but we feel they have become friends to the Center. Each and every representative has been delightful to work with, and has a sincere interest in what we do.”

The annual fundraiser will be held this year at the historic Shenorock Shore Club, in Rye, NY. Tickets begin at $175 and include cocktails, dinner, live and silent auctions and entertainment. Guests will be able to watch, or even participate in, the ever-popular Latin dancing. Professional dancers will demonstrate and teach guests the tango, marangay, cha-cha, and other native dances.

Listed as a top worthy charity in the metro area, the RAC’s proceeds from this benefit will allow them to continue, as they have for more than forty-five years, with quality programming, Outreach, scholarships and basic operating support.
