At Allan Block, we have access to a broad range of insurance products to insure small watercrafts as well as yachts. We also insure recreational vehicles like jet skis, pontoon boats, etc.
Proper watercraft insurance covers liability for negligence for any boating accident as well, as damage to the hull.
It is important to note that your policies provide coverage for the location in which you are navigating your boat. For example, if you purchase inland water rates but use the boat in coastal waters, you have no coverage. We at the Allan Block Agency work with you to insure you have the proper coverage for that kind of risk.
Many policies which provide coastal water coverage have limits as to how far from the coast you can navigate the boat. Policies also have a limited time period, and we at Allan Block are always sure to make our clients aware of it. For example, a watercraft policy may only cover the boat owner from April to October. So even if it is a beautiful day in November, the boat owner will know that the boat is uninsured and should remain in the dock.
Environmental impact fines are an area of watercraft coverage which boat owners rarely think about, but it is worth considering. For example, if your boat sinks, you want to be sure that your policy covers the cost of retrieving the boat from the bottom, as well as covering any environmental fines, which are often imposed in such cases.
